The non-degree Chinese Language Program of Chongqing University delivers Chinese language and culture courses to international students. The courses have three levels, covering from beginners, intermediate levels to advanced levels. The curriculums including Comprehensive Chinese, Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing, and some elective courses such as Chinese Painting and Calligraphy, Chinese Martial Arts, Chinese Newspaper Reading ,HSK Lectures, and Business Chinese.
The mandatory courses are four class hours per day, mostly delivered in the morning from Monday to Friday, whereas the elective courses are mainly delivered at afternoon. A placement test at the beginning of each semester will be arranged in order to accurately assess the Chinese proficiency of students. Students will then be assigned to an appropriate level in accordance with their Chinese proficiencies.
Students will receive completion certificate and transcript once meet the requirement of examination and attendance when they finish study.
1 Eligibility
l Non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport, in good physical and mental health.
l High school graduates or above, between the ages of 18 to 55.
2 Application Documents
2.1 Front page of passport. For applicants who are already in China, please provide a photocopy of Visa or Residence Permit with entry customs stamps as well.
2.2 Highest diploma obtained.
2.3 Financial statement or bank statement (the amount of balance is no less than RMB30,000).
2.4 Physical examination form.
The form shall be filled by the physician in English .The medical examinations shall cover all the items listed in the form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid.
2.5 Non-criminal record. Applicants from our partners may exempt from it.
2.6 For applicants who are currently studying or working in China, a study or work certificate from your institution of study or employment are required.
2.7 In addition to the documents mentioned above, Chongqing University may require further information and materials.
Note: All documents listed above must be original copy in Chinese or English. If the original copy is of a different language, then a notarized translated copy in Chinese or English must be submitted with the original.
3 Application and Recruitment Procedure

3.1 Online Application
l Create and activate an account in our online application system at https://cqu.17gz.org/member/login.do.
l Fill in the application form and upload required application documents (please upload colored scanned copy of the original version).
l Pay the application fee (400 RMB, non-refundable) online and submit the application.
3.2 Comprehensive Evaluation
Applicants submitted with all the information and documents correct and completed will be evaluated by Chongqing University. Successful applicants will receive admissions package by mail.
Note: Please check your application status in our online application system in time, or check your registered email regularly, as the admission officer will inform all updates and notify application results to your online application account and email.
